Antilles Gold strengthens gold and silver resources in La Demajagua
Brian Johnson of Antilles Gold Ltd (ASX:AAU, OTCQB:ANTMF) details a 25% increase in resources at Cuba’s La Demajagua gold-silver deposit. The MRE now reaches 10.3 million tonnes of ore, grading 2.74 g/t gold and 29.3 g/t silver for 908,000 ounces of gold and 9.707 million ounces of silver. Antilles estimates that the additional 2.6 million tonnes of ore – nested in indicated and inferred resource categories – should extend the life of the proposed open pit mine by six to eight years. But La Demajagua is not the only deposit that has caught the attention of the West Indies: last week, the explorer chose to settle on the development of Antonio’s open-pit polymetallic mine in Cuba.
