Silver Spring food truck stolen, owner pleads for return
The truck was stolen from Brookville Road in Silver Spring, police said.
SILVER SPRING, Md. – A food truck owner had his truck stolen in Silver Spring Tuesday afternoon, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
The theft happened on Brookville Road and now the police need the public’s help in locating the food truck.
WUSA9 spoke with James Turner, owner of Turner Beltway Bistro Food Truck, who said he just finished getting the truck approved by the health department last Monday and spent a lot of money on make it work before it gets stolen.
Turner said he parked the truck at the Brookville Road location on Monday and locked everything before leaving. He returned to the scene a week later after working at his usual job to show the truck to an employee and said he was no longer there.
“I kind of had this feeling of emptiness in my stomach and I was like, ‘What’s going on? “” said Turner.
He told us that he did just about everything to make it usable for the public and that he is “quite demoralized”. Turner says he spent about $ 52,000 on equipment for the truck and licenses for approval.
Turner took us to where the truck was stolen and in an emotional plea he said he was going to have to put things on hold.
