“Survey of listed companies” next week

THE Zimbabwe Independent will hold the prestigious annual meeting next week Survey of listed companies sponsored by Nedbank Zimbabwe.
This year’s event will be held virtually on June 17 due to Covid-19 control measures.
the Survey of listed companies is an annual report that measures the performance of companies listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE).
It comes at a time when companies are finding innovative ways to continue operating amid a worsening economic crisis characterized by crippling cash shortages, currency volatility and the devastating effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This year’s theme is “Rising Above the Storm: Business Innovation and Enterprise in a Disrupted Environment”.
Alpha Media Holdings (AMH) CEO Kenias Mafukidze said the survey’s analysis provides key lessons for companies.
“We have all had to figure out how to work away from our workstations and generate enough money to pay monthly salaries, rent, Zimra as well as to keep businesses viable in the Covid-19-induced environment at the globally, ”Mafukidze said.
“We have lost colleagues, jobs and income in this pandemic and she has been with us for a very long time. We must continue to mask ourselves, disinfect, maintain social distancing and adhere to WHO protocols to contain the deadly virus.
“In our respective businesses, we need to continue to innovate and keep abreast of technological developments to prevent our businesses from collapsing. “
Mafukidze said that despite the myriad of economic challenges, the ZSE has managed to deliver a positive return.
The survey is exclusively sponsored by Nedbank Zimbabwe for the 5th consecutive year.
Last year’s seed breeder, Seed Co International was named the grand winner of the Survey of listed companies while construction giant Masimba Holdings Limited and agro-industrial company Zimplow Limited were the first and second finalists respectively.
Rainbow Tourism Group won the award for best innovation and technology for its Gateway Stream mobile app, while TSL Limited was the first finalist.
Telecommunications giant listed on the ZSE, Econet Wireless won the Sustainability Award.
