Winnipeg police issue silver alert in abduction of elder

WINNIPEG – NEWS – The Winnipeg Police Service is asking for the public’s help in locating Sandra McLaughlin, a 63-year-old woman with dementia, who was abducted early this morning when the vehicle she was in was stolen.

Police issued a silver alert.
A Silver Alert is activated when a vulnerable adult is missing.
Sandra McLaughlin is described as 5ft 7in with a slightly heavier build, long black and white hair and wearing a gray hoodie.
The vehicle, a blue 2012 Jeep Patriot with Manitoba license plate KXR 852, was temporarily parked at a gas station in the 3600 block of Portage Avenue when a suspect approached the vehicle and stole it. It was reported that Sandra McLaughlin was in the back of the Jeep at the time, and it was last seen looking west on Portage Avenue toward the Perimeter Highway.
Police are concerned for the well-being of Sandra McLaughlin. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact 911 or the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.
